Rental Terms
All vehicle rentals are governed by a comprehensive Rental Agreement provided at the time of booking confirmation or vehicle collection. This agreement outlines essential terms, conditions, insurance information, and your responsibilities associated with the rental. In case of discrepancies between these Terms and the Rental Agreement, the Rental Agreement will prevail.
Eligibility Criteria
Renting a Vehicle in Dorchester
- Drivers must be at least 21 years old, though specific age requirements may vary by vehicle type, with potential extra fees for those under 25. A valid driving licence appropriate for the selected vehicle must be held for the duration specified in the Rental Agreement. Additionally, valid identification, proof of current address, and payment details are necessary. Any further requirements outlined in the Rental Agreement must also be met.
Booking and Payment Options
- Reservations can be made via our website, by telephone, or in person at our Dorchester office. A deposit may be necessary to confirm your booking. The total payment, alongside a security deposit, is generally required upon vehicle pickup. All pricing is displayed in British Pounds (£) and includes VAT where applicable. We accept major credit and debit cards, processed through trusted payment providers to ensure your transactions are secure.
Vehicle Pickup and Drop-off
- At the time of vehicle collection, you are required to conduct a thorough inspection and report any pre-existing damage without delay. A vehicle condition report will be prepared and must be signed at this stage. It is important to return the vehicle in the same condition it was received, allowing for standard wear and tear. Any new damage will be evaluated and charged appropriately. The vehicle should be returned with the same fuel level as at pickup; refueling charges will apply if it is returned with less fuel. Late returns may incur additional fees, so please inform us as soon as possible if you expect to be late. You will be responsible for any parking fines, traffic violations, or other charges incurred during the rental period, along with an administrative fee.
5. Coverage and Responsibility
- All rentals come with basic third-party insurance included. Details regarding coverage and excess amounts are specified in the Rental Agreement. Additional insurance options may be offered to minimize your financial exposure. It is prudent to review these options thoroughly. You remain liable for any damage or loss up to the excess amount, unless additional insurance is secured. Responsibility for damage resulting from negligence or misuse falls solely on you, irrespective of insurance coverage.
6. Modifications and Cancellations
Cancellation and amendment policies differ based on the type of booking and the notice period provided. For precise information, please consult your booking confirmation or Rental Agreement. Be aware that late cancellations or no-shows may incur additional charges.
Prohibited Activities in Dorchester
Prohibited Vehicle Uses
- The vehicle may not be used for any unlawful activities. Engaging in racing, rallying, off-roading, or other dangerous maneuvers is prohibited. The transport of hazardous materials is strictly forbidden. Sub-letting or permitting unauthorized drivers is not allowed. Driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs is unacceptable. The vehicle must not be used for purposes outside its design, nor exceed passenger or weight limits. Driving beyond agreed geographical boundaries requires prior authorization.
